    When its time to announce that new business, service, or computer-widget to the rest of the world, a press release is a great way to start.  The same advice applies here as it does to the rest of your business communications: Always tailor your document to your target audience.  Determine who your audience is, then write for them.  If you can show in your press release why your announcement is important to the community, and not just a sales announcement, you are much more likely to get it published in multiple media outlets.

    I can create a Press Release for you to distribute, or I can manage the distribution of it to your local media, as well.  I can also act as your media contact to screen out non-qualified respondents so you can stay focused on your business without unnecessary interuptions.

    A good business plan is also tailored to it’s target reader.  If you’re writing or updating your business plan to obtain financing from a bank to expand your existing business, the financial portion of your plan should include a high level of detail.  If you’ve just invented the world’s greatest computer-widget in your garage and are seeking venture capital, then you’d be wise to give both the marketing section and the management team section of your plan a lot of attention.
