Last night, October 7, The Crawford 20/20 Vision held a public meeting at Lowe-Volk Park to let everyone know where they’re at in the whole “Visioning” process. I thought I’d write up a brief summary for those of you who couldn’t attend.
They’ve finished their initial series of public meetings to collect the data they need to form the “plan of action”. They will be releasing the draft of the plan for public comment on October 18. You’ll be able to find the draft on their website at http://www.crawford2020.com/. You’ll also be able to request a copy of the plan be sent to you via email, or by U.S. Postal Service mail, as well. They will be taking public comments for 11 days, through October 29.
So why am I writing this? It’s pretty simple actually. Two of the core principles of the entire Vision process are communication and collaboration. Whether you agree with how the plan and the surveys were implemented or not, I think we can all agree that these two ingredients are absolutely critical to improving the situation in Crawford County.
I urge you to get involved. Get the draft on October 18. Read it. Give them some feedback. If you see something in the plan that can be handled in a better way…let them know. That’s what the process is all about. They’ve got some great ideas. Now they need some feedback. Let’s all take ownership of this and get involved.
Thank you. Be well.
John
