Weekly Photo Tip Series on www.LizotteStudios.com

Photo Tip 1 - Browse Your Camera Manual(Admin Note: You can follow this weekly series on the blog pages of www.LizotteStudios.com. You can find this first weekly tip here)

I’ve been getting a lot of questions from friends and family lately about how we take some of the pictures we do, what camera should they buy, and in general, how can they use their camera better.

I’ve decided to put together some really easy tips for learning to take incredible photos, even with a very simple camera. I’ll publish a new tip every Monday. If you follow along and try the things we talk about, you’ll see a major difference in your photography in just a few weeks. None of my tips will take more than 10 or 15 minutes to learn, and I promise I’ll make it fun. Even the homework assignments. Yes, I said homework…but it will be fun.

How to Create a Professional Site for Your Business and get Google Love

I know that I know what I’m talking about here, but you may not be so sure. In case you’d like to know, just 5 days after my latest site went live, it ranked number one in Google for “Hot Rod Glamour Shots”.  That also happens to be our business slogan. Nice, huh? Really nice. Take a look, then let’s move on. I want to help you make a better looking site for your business, and explain how you can get some Google-love in the process.

What we used to put our site together

We wanted a WordPress theme that screamed “classy”. We wanted an upscale look to LizotteStudios.com. Classy, simple, and a theme that put the focus on our images. We needed something to showcase our photography, but something that would allow us to have private galleries and ecommerce for online proofing and print ordering, as well. We chose the Photocrati theme. It did all of these things very well.

Free Light Painting Classes – Learn how to Light Paint

Beautiful blue orb with a red orb inside of it

Beautiful blue and red orb.

Would you like to learn first-hand how to paint with light?  I offer free classes at libraries, schools or other institutions within a 40 mile radius of Galion, Ohio.

These short (90 minutes to 2 hours) introductory digital photography classes teach a fun and easy long exposure technique called Light Painting.

The instruction is tailored for the average person who is used to using a point and shoot camera. The talk includes a 30 minute PowerPoint slide show followed by a short question and answer session. The remaining time is spent involving the attendees in a live demonstration of creating their own light painting photos. I will also bring some sample tools that can be used for light painting.

These classes are offered free of charge, and class dates are flexible.  Ninety minutes is the optimal amount of class time for this presentation.

If you’d like your local library (or other group) to present this class, please forward them the link to this post. They can use my contact form to arrange for me to present this class.

New Lighthouse Pictures

I spent some time on Presque Isle in Erie, PA this past week and was able to get a few good pictures of the lighthouses, houseboats and shoreline while I was there. Here’s just a sampling of them. If you like them, I’ve added them all to the Photography Category on www.OhWowThatsCool.com  for purchase as digital downloads or matted prints. You can find most of my photography there. Enjoy :)
